Road
From
Edinburgh: Take the A90 over the Forth Bridge which then
becomes the M90. Continue north leaving the M90 at Junction
8 and
follow the A91 into St Andrews.
Journey time is approximately one hour.
From Glasgow:
Take the
M8 towards Edinburgh, leaving the M8 at Junction 2 and then
follow the signs for the Forth Road Bridge.
Continue north leaving the M90 at Junction 8 and follow
the A91 into St Andrews. Journey time is approximately one
and a half hours.
By Bus
Bus services operate from all
areas of Scotland with links to St Andrews. Please check

Train
The closest railway station is
Leuchars on the east coast main line with connections
throughout Britain and a night sleeper service to London.
The station is 4 miles from St Andrews from which there
is an excellent taxi service and frequent local bus services.
By Ferry
A daily ferry service operates between Zeebrugge and Rosyth
which is the closest ferry terminal with links to continental
Europe. Rosyth is about 40 miles from St.Andrews and is
close to the M90 motorway. It is easiest to travel
on to St.Andrews by car or taxi.
By Air
The closest large commercial airport is Edinburgh,
about an hour's drive from St.Andrews, although some services
arrive at Dundee (10 miles away) and some private planes
use the RAF Leuchars airbase (4 miles away). Glasgow airport
has direct flights to the USA and Canada and is about one
and a half hours drive away. Further south is Prestwick
Airport.
From Edinburgh Airport you can take the airport bus, or
a taxi, into the centre of Edinburgh. From there you
can travel by bus directly to St.Andrews or by train to
Leuchars Station. Alternatively you can hire a car
or a taxi at the airport and travel directly to St Andrews.
